Almost forgot I had this. Another dumb harpy drawing, this time, a skeletal reconstruction of the head and most of the neck, showing integument. Dark gray is feathers, black is skin/muscle/whatever else, white is bone, cyan is cartilage, beige is keratin. Is my lack of skeletal knowledge apparent yet?
And yes, it’s supposed to be a convergently evolved bird that just happensto have human features.
I’ve had an odd urge to draw harpy-type things due to one of my girlfriend’s drawings. So here, have a sketchy skeleton. Maybe I’ll draw a fleshed out version at some point.
I thought these two pictures I found were pretty neat, so here you go. The relative widths of Apatosaurus and Diplodocus. Note that they’re both diplodocids, so this isn’t like a macronarian/diplodocid difference, but more like a apatosaurine/diplodocine difference.
Here, have a diagram of Herrerasaurus’s manus and pes (hand and foot). Useful, since most of the pictures of Herrerasaurus don’t show the hand very well.
Almost forgot that I had a picture I wanted to show.
These are the articulation ranges of Plateosaurus’s body and tail, done by Heinrich Mallison (his blog is here). Plateo seems pretty flexible, looking at the max ranges for its neck/torso/tail.
In retrospect, he seems like an even better person to ask about dinosaur articulation ranges (since he specifically works with dinosaur biomechanics) than Scott Hartman, but oh well, the email was already sent.
Tagged as a T. rex, when it’s actually a Ceratosaurus. Don’t see the similarity in the slightest.

Linheraptor exquisitus was approximately eight feet long and 50 pounds, and would have been a fast, agile predator that preyed on protoceratopsians. Within the Dromaeosauridae family, Linheraptor is most closely related to another recently discovered species Tsaagan mangas. Tsaagan’s skull indicates that it is more primitive than Velociraptor, and the skeleton of the new species should help reconstruct the series of evolutionary changes within the Dromaeosauridae.
